Most professionals in today’s workforce love to receive praise on the job for all of their hard work. Whether it is employee of the month or employee of the day praise is always a confidence booster and great for the culture of a company. Similar to working professionals, students also work hard. Keeping up with their studies and extracurricular activities can be a heavy load to carry.
8th grade Journalism 2 student, Paege K., has been an outstanding student throughout the month of September and has earned the Journalism Scholar of the Month award. Paege beat out three other candidates in other journalism and communications courses to take home the honors.
“Paege is loving and always looking forward to her next opportunity to photograph the Heritage family. She has attended many sporting events and has become a leader for her peers.” stated Journalism Instructor Mr. Williams.
Paege also played a huge role marketing and selling the Heritage yearbook by selling a total of ten books throughout the month on a goal of only two.
“I had no idea Mr. Williams would pick me as the journalism scholar of the month. It was nice getting those cupcakes from Mr. Williams.” said Paege.
Mr. Williams will be selecting another scholar of the month for October. Journalism students continue to do great work and you maybe the next student chosen.
