Everyday after school Coach Hollingsworth gets her athletes ready for big meets by having them work hard and run long distances. Being the head coach she was excited for the kids running in the district meet because this year was there first time ever running in STAC championship in cross country.
The athletes run for two miles every meet, running on a trail that is marked off for two miles when they are done. The runners did an amazing job in this meet. The 8th grade girls fell a little short, 8th grade Zoe Walter coming in 15th place, Callie Coxs coming in 13th place falling a little behind, but fought and ran hard and tried their best. 7th grade Destiny Hernandez placed 2nd out of all 7th grade girls. The boys 7th and 8th grade won the STAC championship,7th grade girls boys Bryce Kopeck in 9th, Javier Sosa in 6th, Advick Martinez in 13th and Aiden Sosa in 14th bring home the stac championship banner.
8th grade boys, Dorian Holloway in 2nd, and Giovanni Hernandez in 10th also bringing home a stac championship banner, both grades putting in two new banners in the gym. “ All athletes did amazing and ran hard, i’m very proud of each and every one of them” says Coach Hollingsworth. Good job to all athletes who competed in the meet.
