2019 “In Other Words” Yearbook A Huge Success

HMS Journalism

Distribution Day 2019 was a huge success as Heritage students got their hands on their yearbooks for the first time. Students were excited to see the cool cover and pictures of all of their friends throughout the book.

Yearbook Adviser, Mr. Damoine Williams, was extremely excited to see how happy his students were when they looked through the yearbook for the first time.  “It felt really good to see all of their hard work pay off when their books came in.  I had to admit the book came out even better than I originally expected.  The crew did a really good job this year.”

The theme of “In Other Words” was developed by Yearbook Officers Kiana Johnson, Austin Lange, Nicole Pruski, Amber Parker, Annie Barajas, and Trinity St. Ann.  Officers attended a fall workshop sponsored by Jostens where they were able to develop the concept and design of the yearbook theme and cover.  Yearbook Editor and Chief Kiana Johnson had an idea of creating a cover which featured smoke on a brick wall.  The rest of the yearbook crew loved the idea and before you knew it the cover and the theme all came together.

Editor in Chief Kiana Johnson opens the 2019 yearbook for the first time.

This year was yet another successful year for the journalism program as yearbooks sold out for the third straight year.  Truly an exciting book with lots of memories to share. Let’s see what the yearbook crew of 2020 has in store for us.
